Unicellular Organism

A unicellular organism is an organism that is made up of only one cell. An example of this is an unfertilized or just fertilized chicken egg. It does not become multi-cellular until the embryo begins to grow.

  1. This is a unicellular structure but not an example of a unicellular organism. The single cell in that egg cannot live on it's own. It first has to divide like you said.
